Alfred Emil Lange

Alfred Emil Lange, 79, of Burkburnett, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Crescent Care Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Lunn's Colonial Chapel with Steve Wiggins of Burkburnett Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Pawnee, Texas, Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Mr. Lange was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Karnes City, Texas. He married Ruby McCarn Dec. 24, 1940 in Kenedy, Texas, He served in the Navy in World War II and received the Victory Medal. He was a maintenance superintendent for the Pawnee Independent Schools. He taught Teenage Bible School and was a congregational song leader. He also worked as a service writer for Baggett-Bridwell.

Alfred was a charter member of the Lion's Club in Pawnee, and a 60-year member of the Hermanson Lodge in Karnes City. He was also a Red Cross Blood Donor. He lived in Burkburnett since 1956, coming from Pawnee. He was a service manager for Ralph Morgan Dodge for 30 years. He was a member of Tenth and Broad Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby McCarn Lange; his parents, Fritz and Alma Sommerlatt [sic] Lange; and great-grandson, Scott Owens.

Survivors include a son, Larry Lange of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Ruby Hull of Burkburnett and Janice Hudspeth of Shawnee, Okla.; two sisters, Elise Fenner of Beeville, Texas, and Mary Green of San Antonio; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
